GENERAL CONCEPT

New uses attract new people and this is precisely the objective of our proposal.Valdebebas is a place devoid of infrastructure not only commercial but urbandensity. Looking at the big city is Madrid, we discovered a number of key pointsin terms of activity and urban development is concerned. However, these hotspots are not sufficient to centralize the use and activity, we need a second concept that gives meaning to our proposal: THE WHITE NIGHT. This means that commercialallocations assigned at our home, have associated a series of cultural activitiesconstant over time. Day and night, events and screenings will be organized in space, allowing the urban void becomes a real driver for people who maintain asteady and sustainable growth environment.

BUSINESS STRATEGY
In our proposal we define four neighborhoods characterized by its layout and urban image, fabric and the type of trade that takes place in them.

The characteristic points that are used as a reference: Fuencarral, SerranoStreet, the Paseo del Prado and America. As we see, are very different areastogether and that's what drives us to develop our business strategy.
The variety and density are the two key concepts to maintain sustainable growth.

VARIETY
The type of proposed trade in the whole plot is of the following types:
Alternative-Sustainable Fashion, Technology, Temp, Food and Leisure-Restoration. To these partners come other types which perform theirfunction dotacional such as pharmacies.
The different types of commerce come distributed more or less homogenousthroughout the whole plot, allowing their accessibility from the complex.

DENSITY

A sustainable city is a city that grows horizontally indefinitely but a dense city withconcentrated uses and activities. In this way cities are developed much more accessible and where the residential function makes a very important role since "what is used, take care and what is not used, falls into a progressivedegradation."
So our proposal is a proposal to create city. But we must not forget the idea, we do not want to fall into the classic formal aspects, ie if our benchmark is the city ofMadrid was not simplistically pretend play by imitating the streets or public spaces, but reinterpret the feeling that occurs in different urban areas raised, is a similar feeling.
Thus, we propose a number of neighborhoods (Cash Town, Cool Town, and TownSunday) which are related through another central Town GreenIn each neighborhood, we introduce a seri Commercial Generator, which will make them runThese generators are shops in department stores (like Ikea can be aMercadona, Media Markt ...) that will attract a large number of people who in turnwill use the surrounding environment.

TYPE OF HOUSING
A city, not city homeless with this proposal and we plant a new residential typology unconventional.
The buildings have not only the commercial and residential, but also have anoffice as part of a city: WORK, SLEEP and have fun.
The business side will be grouped, not surprisingly, in the first two floors, followed by office and finally the house. Not to mention the parking to be located on level -1and -2 differentiating public and private parking respectively.

The typology that we propose is based on the versatility of the spaces. We propose a series of small apartments of no more than 65 m2. These apartmentswill be homes, offices or studies, and can be attached to each other depending on the demand of the users, creating home-study, or other combinations. Thesmall size of the apartments will be complemented with large areas for differentuses, ie, on the ground immediately to introduce a common plant businessespublic office while on the roof establish the common ground of apartments. This will foster the relationship between individuals and align the housing to work.

Because Madrid has not anything special,
not a big river or skyscrapers,
is has no ruins
or sea
or beach
but it has people,
the  unexpected
corner
constant animation,
VARIETY.
Worth getting up early to come to see the life of Madrid.

18TH IBERIAN COMPETITION OF PLADUR CONSTRUCTION SOLUTIONS.Pavilion for children _2007

The project is placed in "La Casa de Campo", Madrid. The proposal consists in a 600 m2 and 4 m hight pavilion. That space could be used in many ways but it is designed  for children´s learning in the field of reading. In that case the scale of the building is related with the human scale.

A metalic sketeton sustaines a glass enclosure which is covered wiht a steel grid. This constructive filosophy is very useful in many ocasions because is a dry construction and it is very easy to assembly, With that modulated scheme, we can enlarge the building dependig of new uses.

On the other hand, in order to solve the interior paritions and based on Pladur constructive filosophy, I've design some polycarbonate panels that rotate on themselves and move trouhgt rails located in the high part of the pavilion. Those panels will be treated in diferent ways in order to be useful like blackboards, projection screens or decorative areas...
